Blue Veins is born out of a need for information, activism, and grass-roots organizing towards the empowerment of women and other socially isolated groups. Today, Blue Veins works to empower communities towards improving their status which is essential to realizing the full potential of social, political, and economic development. Blue Veins believes every individual regardless of any discrimination should have equal opportunity to shape their future by naming their hopes, aspirations, and dreams and effectively participate and play their role in sustainable development. Blue Veins works to overcome the barriers which hinder the access of vulnerable communities to opportunities, resources, and services.
Blue Veins was founded by a group of enthusiastic grassroots young women from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Blue Veins was formed on the concept that leadership is not just about women playing leadership roles—it is about capacitating women to lead differently, with feminist values and ideology, to advance social justice for all without discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and expressions. Our founders started to outreach un-privileged women and socially isolated groups across province and started to mobilize and organize to question their roles in society, challenging power structures, and effectively catalyzing social change so that they can live their lives as they choose, with dignity and respect.
Blue Veins envisions a world free from violence and discrimination and where every individual lives with dignity and is equally empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Our mission is to work together in harmony with a higher spirit to improve the quality of life of women, children, and transgender to establish a people-centered framework for empowerment, sustainable health, and a social development to guide and build up a culture of cooperation and partnership and to respond to the immediate needs of those who are vulnerable.
